Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in Conditioner
Price: 8.5 oz $16
Ingredients: Purified Water, Jojoba, Avocado and Coconut Oils, Vegetable Wax, Panthenol, Arnica, Calendula, Echinacea, Nettle & Horsetail Extracts, Vegetable Glycerin, Wheat Germ Oil, Essential and/or Fragrance Oil, Ascorbic Acid & Vitamin E
Product Claim: DETANGLES. SOFTENS. MOISTURIZES. Works best for: Thick kinks or curls, relaxed, color treated or dry hair.
I am so happy I was able to get my hands on this product! Ever since I returned back to my curly hair I always heard great things about it. This might even be “up there” with my love from CoilyHeadChick ♥. The consistency is thin but it is perfect for my fine strands. Just be careful that you aren’t heavy-handed. My hair literally stayed moisturized for a whole week. It was not sticky. This item comes in different fragrances but the scent that was sent to me was Pomegranate Guava which smells sweet and yummy. The scent is not overpowering ( I would know since I am pregnant). What I really enjoyed about this leave-in is that it played very well with different gels. (Please see combos below)
This leave-in also plays well with products of its own line. (You’ll see a picture later in the post). The slip that I get from this leave-in is AMAZING! So amazing that I can finger detangle and not use any other tools. I can definitely see myself re-purchasing this product in the future once I run out. I just love that it is protein free and I now have a second leave-in for my rotation.
Luscious Locks Hair Mask
Price: 8 oz $25
Ingredients: Purified Water, Aloe Butter, Jojoba Oil, Agave, Vegetable Wax, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Vera Juice, Panthenol, Arnica, Calendula, Echinacea, Nettle & Horsetail Extracts, Carrot Seed Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Arnica, Shikakai & Amla Extracts, Vitamin E & Natural Enzymes.
Product Claim: DETANGLE. SOFTEN. GROW. Works best for Thick kinks, curls or waves, relaxed, color treated or dry hair. The Luscious Locks Hair Mask is a wonderfully nutritious conditioning treatment that you can use as often as your hair needs it. Conditioning doesn’t get deeper than this because everything you need for your hair is in this jar. Saturate your strands with this rich blend of herbs like shikakai and rosemary which are known to promote hair growth, arnica and nettle to strengthen your hair follicles and aloe for much-needed moisture. It’s called Luscious Locks for a reason.
This product for me was “so so”. I do not hate it but I will not be adding it to my Holy grail list. It has great slip but I found myself using alot of product for each section of hair. I was almost through half of the bottle on my first wash which is not good. Once I washed this DC out my hair felt “ok” not like wow it is so soft but it sure was not dry. I would like if I am paying $25 for a product it to be bigger size. The consistency for me was not to thin not too thick. It had no scent that I can recall. Overall this was an average Deep Conditioner for me. I’ll use up the rest but I don’t see myself repurchasing unless it is on sale.
Super Duper Hydrating Hair Cream
Price: 6.7 oz $16
Ingredients: Shea Butter, Aloe Vera Gel, Argan Oil, Allantoin, Lecithin, Potassium Sorbate, Acai Powder, Vegetable Wax, Vegetable Glycerin, Essential and/or Fragrance Oils & Vitamin E
Product Claim: HYDRATE & STRENGTHEN. Works best for: Thick kinks or curls, relaxed, color treated or dry hair. Great for hair and scalp
I only have one complaint about this product. And it is that it gets a little gritty like Oyin’s Burn Sugar pomade after some time. Besides that I REALLY LIKE it. I wanted to use this product thinking that I was going to get “hard hold” for my twist outs, but instead I received moisturized soft hair which I loved. (Below is a picture of a flat twist out using KBB leave- in together with KBB Super Duper Hydrating Hair Cream)
I was unable to receive multiple day hair but I was satisfied with the moisture and softness that lasted for days. I find myself reaching for this cream as a base when I want to bun or when I want to do a quick up do.
As stated in the beginning of this review, these product were sent to me to review. The above review is my honest thoughts and opinions. What may work for me may not work for your hair and vs.

Describe yourself in 100 words or less.
Hi! My name is Korrie Kelley from Korrie’s Korner, and I LOVE natural hair! I am a wife of 13 years to my childhood sweetheart, and we have two handsome sons ages 9 & 7. I absolutely love having a family. It doesn’t matter what we do, just as long as we are all together.
How long have you been natural and why did you chose to go natural?
I have been natural now for 2 years and 4 months. It is the best thing that I have ever done concerning my hair! My cousin did the BC, deciding to go natural, and watching her hair start to grow out inspired me. I let go of the creamy crack about a month later and never looked back:)
How did others (family, friends, colleagues) react to your decision to go natural? What was your response to them? How do they feel now?
At first I didn’t get a lot of support, but thank goodness my husband, who had begged me for 10 years to go natural, was my biggest cheerleader!! He loves it! Of course my Mom and bestfriend were very supporting as well. Now, everyone loves it! I guess once people got over the shock of my non relaxed hair, they starting accepting it. I didn’t really care if they accepted it or not! I liked it and that’s all that mattered:)
What is/was your biggest hair challenge/obstacle and how have you dealt with it?
It used to be during the transition time growing out those relaxed ends. It was tough dealing with two different textures. The two different text. responded to humidity differently. Now my biggest obstacle is having the patience as my hair is growing longer..SHRINKAGE!!!
What do you love most about your natural hair and/or about being natural?
What I love now is how versatile my hair is. I can alot more things with it that I couldn’t do before. I feel like I am finally free to be me! I have this huge accessory that I can rock now!!!
What is your current regimen?
Here lately I have been doing a lot of experimenting for my page, but the majority of what I do right now are twist outs. I was the wash and go queen, but I started having trouble with my hair getting really knotted up. So I started the twist outs again to help with keeping the tangles out. I co-wash once a week with either Tresseme naturals or here recently I’ve been using the As I Am coconut cleansing co-wash.. I Love it! Then I apply my leave in either KCKnot Today, Shea moisture curl and style milk or the SM hair smoothie. As i am twisting, I’m sealing my ends with sweet almond oil. For my wash and go’s I love Kinky Curly products!!!
What is the product “you cant live without”?
Conditioner…and I love the BeeMine coconut cream bee hold curling butter!
What is your “go to” style?
When my husband lets me get away with this style, (he loves it in a low, romantic looking ponytail), I love to wear a high pineapple with a swoop bang pinned back on the side. See picture of both ways.
How often do you cut/trim your hair? How do you cut it (salon, DIY, straight, curly, in twists)? If you go to a salon, would you recommend it (if yes, please feel free to give the name and location to help other naturals in your area!).
I trim as needed, but usually it’s every 6 months. I trim my hair in twists. The Salon I use for my color is K Salon and Spa. My childhood friend works there and is awesome in coloring. She loves to play in my hair. She calls it her dream hair!
Do you have a “hair inspiration”? If so who?
I love Jess (Mahogany Curls). When I first went natural I watched tons of her videos. They really helped me learn a lot!
Where can we find you online?
Right now I am on Instagram @korrieskorner, and I also have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Korries-Korner/591992204177743. I am in the process of getting a Youtube video up and down the road a blog.
What advice would you give someone who is contemplating going natural and/or becoming discouraged with their natural journey?
Go for it! Be patient and to give your hair lots of love. It’s not about whether or not you have “good” hair. We all have good hair! Everyone is different and that is what I love. Be unique. Embrace your “youness”.
Anything else that you’d like to add?
Thank you so much for asking me to do this! You are such a haircrush! It is an honor:)

Nail. Of. The. Week
I am soooo excited about this look. Why? I don’t really know..I just am!!!
My inspiration was my boyfriends mother who is a nail tech and she did a similar look a few months ago. The difference is that the glitter she used was an actual nail polish, but I decided to replicate the look on my own nails but kinda D.I.Y
The nail polish that was used to achieve the aquamarine color was L’oreal Not a cloud in sight. This shade is SUPER nice!! Not too blue and not too green, just the right shade for me. I purchased it for $4.98 at Walmart vs. $8.00 at Walgreens -_-
-You will need a top coat
-Fine glitter. (I bought my fine glitter at Joanns, but I am sure this can be found anywhere.)
-Little brush to brush off excess glitter off nail
- Piece of paper or paper towel to catch loose glitter
-Plastic spoon or some type of utensil to sift/pour the glitter onto the nail
I applied a light coat of top coat on my bare nail then poured the glitter on the wet polish making sure that the nail was well covered. I then brushed off the excess glitter off the skin and nail. Once the polish and glitter were dried I applied another coat of polish and repeated the process. Finally I added one more layer of top coat to seal the deal. So it was top coat, glitter, top coat, glitter and top coat again…Try not to touch the nail until fully dry or the glitter will clump to one side.
Clean up… I took the piece of paper where the glitter fell, folded it and poured the glitter back into its container. (Please if you need to sneeze..sneeze away from the working area. TRUST ME!)
I am just in LOVE with how this turned out. I really like how light bounces off the glitter.
I would love to here your thoughts on this look! Do you like it? Why or why not? Would you rock it?!

Where can this be purchased: Purgasm Shop
So here is the review….
Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Shea Butter (refined naturally crushed), Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifer), Honey, Soy bean protein (conditioner), Titanium Dioxide (mineral colorant), Argan Oil, Yucca Root, Marshmallow Root, Wild Cherry Bark, Silk Aminos, Essential Oil/Phthalate Free Fragrance Blend, Love!
Product Claim: These hand poured shampoo bars are all natural and are botanically infused with Wild Cherry Bark, Marshmallow Root, and Silk Aminos. They contain Argan oil, Honey, and Shea Butter for a hydrating, deliciously scented clean that does not strip the natural moisture from the hair shaft. Shampoo bars produce an abundance of light and creamy lather and leaves hair feeling clean, soft, moist, and easier to detangle. Say bye bye to dry, tangled, moisture stripped hair! Great for dull, brittle hair that craves moisture!
This is the second shampoo bar I have ever used in my hair. The fist one was the Cream&Coco Raspberry Rice Pudding and that one kicks this one out the park in my opinion. At first I felt like this bar was not doing anything because it did not foam at all. Soon I started feeling like my strands were sticking together…..hmmm this thing dried my hair out so bad it aint even funny. Shampoo bars are supposed to cleanse, but this stripped my hair bad. I did the right side of my head first and contemplated on continuing with the left (but I was determined to finish what I had begun). My hair was sectioned in 4 so I know that the tangling was not due to washing big sections of hair at once. After I finished shampooing my hair I can literally hear the *squeaky clean sound when I ran my fingers over my strands. : (
*I gave 1 heart because of the scent
Ingredients: Rhassoul Clay, Unrefined Cocoa Butter, Banana, Honey,Marshmallow Root, Wild Cherry Bark, Hibiscus, Argan Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol and Polysorbate 60, Silk Aminos, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Organic/Phthalate Free Fragrance Blend, Undutched Cocoa Powder, Vitamin E, Love!
Product Claim: The Wild Cherry Treatment hair truffle mask is specially formulated to provide the ultimate damage repair and conditioning experience for curly, kinky, and afro textured hair. Our special blend of rhassoul clay, wild cherry bark, banana, honey and marshmallow root intensely conditions, softens, increases moisture retention, and provides excellent slip for detangling. Say bye to dry, brittle, and malnourished kinks and curls with this aryuvedic and botanical blend! *These intense conditioning hair truffles are lighted dusted with undutched cocoa powder on one side for it’s nourishing and moisture retaining properties.
I followed the directions and added boiling water to the 3 truffles. I was expecting like a creamy cream but ended up with a gritty cream.(Think of adding an old ashy Hershey bar to cold water) anyways….. I wanted to love this, especially since my hair was so dry after the Poo Bar, but was I wrong. I must say that I HATED this product. Like… more than that As I Am coconut mess, and you all know that I really disliked that line…. Let me tell you all my not so lovely encounter with these truffles………..
I melted them down as good as I could. Then spread the gritty cream over the same 4 sections. Application was soso. Again, I like the smell but that is not the point.lol .. I left this in my hair for about 35 mins under a plastic cap. I hopped in the shower, and started rinsing the treatment out of my hair, but I noticed that the water was running clear. -_- not good at all! When I touched my hair, it felt like I had left some sort of play do clay in it. I then decided to work the water into each section to make sure that the water was getting everywhere…. To tell you all more, I had to use 2 different shampoo’s to get this out. The first was Giovanni Tea Tree Shampoo and since that did nothing I had to reach for my Suave Clarifying shampoo(contains sulfates) and even that did not get everything out. By this point I am super pissed and heated. I had wasted valuable time and water in the shower yet my hair was still not clean. When I got out the shower I had to get a HG deep conditioner to reverse the madness. I knew that my Curl Junkie Curl Rehab would do it. I left the Cj CR overnight to make sure that I got the full effects from it. In the morning I finally washed it out and….hahahaha I still had bits and pieces of the Purgasm treatment in my hair…..smh never again sorry.
*I gave 1 heart because of the scent
Ingredients: Distilled Water (infused with Marshmallow Root, Wild Cherry Bark, Flaxseed, Hibiscus, Propietary Botanical Blend), Aloe Vera Gel, Silk Aminos, Xanthum Gum, Phthalate Free Fragrance/Essential Oil Blend, Love!
Product Claim: This botanical based gel will quench your curls and bring them back to life! It gives great curl definition for kinky, coilly, and curly textures and nourishes dry hair and scalp and provides a light hold. Curl Poppin Gel is specially formulated to provide excellent definition, detangling, shine, and moisture. Wake up your curls! * Great for “Wash & Go”, twists, braids, shingling, and other textured styles.
There are no thoughts because I decided not to put my hair through anymore stress, I didn’t even use the gel!
* Over all from the products that I did use I would not recommend them to anyone. Again, these products were sent to me for review and the thoughts above are my honest opinions.
It feels like forever since I’ve posted something! I am sorry guys, just been super busy lately.
School: I started school up again recently and it has been taking up all of my time even though it is only ONE class. O how I dislike you A&P. I decided that maybe radiology is not for me. I know I want to work in a hospital but I am unsure where yet.
Work: Last week my sony camera broke, so I was forced to buy a new camera..a Canon T3i At first I was a bit hesitant and kind of regretted it for a slight second. BUT I am glad I purchased it. I took some pictures today of my new headband collection and they look like they were professionally taken.
……………..besides that I am thinking of filming my next video soon. What should it be about?
